Foster families receive free admission with proof of a current foster home license. The design lab includes an architecture area stocked with supplies from 3DuxDesign, a company founded by siblings Ayana and Ethan Klein, two of the featured speakers at a preview party celebrating the space Thursday. 3Dux building sets consist of cardboard shapes and simple connectors that allow kids the flexibility to build and embellish an endless variety of structures. It takes more than one day to fully explore and enjoy the scholastic treasures found on every floor of the Magic House. Exhibitions such as the Bubble Room and the Lewis and Clark Adventure are designed to educate and entertain people of all ages. The pin point wall allows curious onlookers to create 3D impressions of themselves, and the Jack and the Beanstalk area gives kids the opportunity to climb a three-story beanstalk just like the hero from the classic children’s tale.

I know of a couple ways to get in the Magic House for free, and couple more places where you can find coupons. The good news/bad news is that temporary safety regulations have limited their visitor capacity to 150 people per session. This means tickets could go super fast, but also that there will be no crowds. They’ve made a lot of improvements to the house while waiting to reopen, including touchless faucets and toe kicks for bathroom doors. We are honored to have provided families in the St. Louis region, and around the country, a place where imaginations are sparked, curiosity is piqued, and problem-solving skills are developed through a variety of hands-on experiences. There are also dozens of activities for elementary school-aged children, such as the kid-sized community with a bank, grocery store, library, and fishing pond. Tweens enjoy the recurring exhibit called "Kirkwood Safety Town," which frequently opens in the weeks around back-to-school time in the fall. In this mock neighborhood, kids learn about fire, water, and traffic safety, and they can even get fitted for a bike helmet. Older kids also enjoy the chance to star in a television newscast and have fun with an electrically charged ball you can touch to make your hair stand on end.
